Goodbye Summer

The summer came and went. Just like that! We had a wonderful summer. It was one of those "good 'ol fashion" summers. Where the days were lazy and running through sprinklers was just so much fun. We went on walks, had picnics in the park, stayed up way to late and just enjoyed being with each other.

I know I am behind on posts...I have a vacation post to do, first day of school post to do and our weekend of family camp to do. Hopefully I will get them up this weekend. HOPEFULLY!!!

Until then...you will have to do without pictures. :) Sorry Grandparents.

This last weekend we went to Lake Lundgren Bible Camp. The camp is celebrating its 75th year so they though it would be awesome to have a reunion for all staff memembers. When Kevin heard this he was pumped. He was anxious to show me and the kids where he lived for many years as a staff "kid". I will admit, I wasn't sure what to think about it...but let me tell you something...it was awesome! They had a schedule of events and it was basically like family camp. As a family we needed it...just to have a slower pace of life for a few days and to just be near each other. It was perfect. We left on Friday AS SOON AS THE KIDS GOT OFF OF THE BUS...they jumped right in the truck and we started our 5 hour drive up to the North Woods.

We had 4 different messages this past weekend and EACH and EVERYONE I needed! I left feeling so refreshed. One message in particular spoke about how we tend to "try to go around a trial instead of going through it". That is me at this exact moment! The last 2 months I have been trying to take a detour around this trial thinking I could do it on my own. Thinking there was NO need to hit this trial head on with strength from Christ. HELLO!?!?! What was I thinking? That trial is in my life because He put it there....why do I think He can't help me? So instead I gave it all over to Him. I am so thankful for the messages we heard this weekend and for the men of God that brought them to us.

If you have never been to family camp but have thought about it I would say give it a try. We loved it and are looking forward to going back next year and even sending Victoria to their Junior camp. The way she has been talking about it you would think she were going next week.
