Now on to other details...This past week the kids have been down with first the stomach flu and then with strep throat. It has been a busy week needless to say. First Logan started throwing up last Friday. He is incredibly sweet about being sick. He cracks me up. By Tuesday I got a phone call from the nurse at Victoria's school. She was running a mild fever and her throat looked pretty swollen and red. I took her to the doctors and sure enough she had strep. I felt bad for her because she was not interested in having the throat "swipe" done. She almost bit both me and the nurse, but we did get it and the antibiotics and got home for a nap and quiet time. Kevin volunteered to stay at home with her on Wednesday. I really wanted to, but knew that they would be just fine. Daddy took good care of her, and I came home to a nice dinner.
The next morning she was feeling better. We got up and started our morning routine. Shortly after we got a call from our daycare provider. She was sick so Logan would be going to work with daddy. I wish I had a working camera that morning. They were both in their jeans, carhardt shirt and carhardt jacket!! Logan loves to be just like daddy! It was so precious and I will remember that "picture" for a long time to come. Logan had a great day helping daddy and once again I was so thankful that Kevin is self employed and able to be with Logan.
For the past 2 weeks Logan has been complaining of a sore neck. Kevin started going to a chiropractor about 3 months ago when his back went out on him. He found that he his hips are out of rotation, his neck has NO curve to it and we also found out that his ribs are all "connected" to one vertebrae down to what they are supposed to be connected to. Interesting. Ever since he has gone, he feels much better. On his last visit he mentioned to the doctor that Logan's neck has been very stiff and he wouldn't turn it all the way. She suggested to Kevin that she would take a look at Logan. So this morning Kevin and Logan went on in. They took x-rays and looked at his little back. They noticed right away that Logan's # 1 & 2 vertebra were totally out of line. They were actually slanted down. The doctor worked on his back and pop...she said that she wanted to see him 2 more times and he should be back to normal. His hips were also out of rotation. His left leg was 2.5 inches shorter.
What do you think of chiropractors. Some people go to them all of the time, some just to get adjusted once in awhile, and others will never go. Have you ever been to one??? I am curious as to what others think. I am not saying that I am now a believer and will always send my family to one. What I did like was that they treated Logan and Kevin with NO medicine. To me that was great and Logan moves his neck around like nothing is wrong. One thing that I will say is that the doctors there want you to come back again and again. Kevin has had to set his time and when he will go in. If it were up to them he would be in the office once a week. Right now he only goes when he feels that he needs to.
Thanks for your input...I am looking forward to read what others thing!
Oh and Kevin just called. He has a new CAMERA!!! I am so excited and will have new pictures shortly!!!

Hi Heather,
we have that same camera! I love it! It takes great pics and is pretty hardy (I dropped it on tile once, lense down, and it still works!)
As far as chiropractic goes, I think we talked about it once, but Natalie has been going since she was born (well, since she was 2 months old since I oculdn't take her anywhere). She was on meds for acid reflux and the adjustment fixed that so that I could take her off meds. Also, she was colicky (due to the reflux) before I got her adjusted, and the adjustment took care of it.
I totally agree that you should not go every week (I believe that we know our own bodies and know when we need adjusting). The chiropractor lady in Winnebago (perhaps the one Kevin is seeing), has a different philosophy, becuase she thinks you should go once a week. I disagree. I go around every two months now, but I have been going since I was 12. Natalie goes every 2-3 months (which is pretty good considering how often toddlers fall!) But, I highly recommend it because Natalie has been such a happy, healthy child and I attribute much of that to the fact that she has a nervous system that is communicating well since her spine is aligned.
The thing with it is, you will see a difference in Logan, and it will not be because of medications. That's what I like too. I didn't like having my newborn on medication, that's for sure! I think we are way too medication happy in this country! In fact, if Natalie is sick, I usually get her adjusted before I go to the pediatrician, that's how well I think it works (can you tell I have a strong opinion about chiropractic!)
Ok, off my soapbox! I hope everyone is feeling better soon (and that you and Kevin stay healthy!)

I'm a firm believer in chiropractic, too. Most people don't know that the skeletal system & nervous system (which are manipulated during an adjustment) affect ALL other areas of your body! Therefore, many people's troubles can be solved with chiropractic, even though they don't have "back problems." A few times my 1-year-old niece was struggling with severe constipation--we're talking 4-6 days--and when she had a chiropractic adjustment, she blew out her diaper right there in the office! Not pretty, I know, but what a relief, both for her and for her parents.
Chiropractic is believed to give relief to some allergies, circulation & limb troubles, stomach problems, headaches (obviously!), and TONS of other maladies that are usually treated with medicines.
I also agree that it isn't necessary to go every week just for "maintenance." In Logan's case, though, you probably should take him a couple more times, as it's easy for bones to "slip out," once they've been out. But we mommies are pretty intuitive--you'll know whether he needs to go after that.
Good luck! I'm glad Logan is feeling better!
Wow, that's very impressive about the chiropractor and Logan! That's terrific that Kevin even thought of that. I would stuck with a regular doctor - probably just because I've never had problems so I've never been to a chiropractor. I certainly don't think their quacks, I've just never had back problems.
Congrats on the new camera! Let us know what Kevin brought home. :) Hope everyone's feeling healthy and well again!
nathan goes to a chiropractor. he gets all out of whack from all the sports he coaches and plays. and yes, they say he "really should" come every week. that can get pretty expensive though, so he only goes when he starts to feel bad.
i don't get it at all. but i've never been to one and all i can imagine is twitching the wrong way, tensing up and accidentally breaking my neck. haha!
there are some people in his business group that take their babies from 10 days old. yowza!
works for him. as for me, no thank you. :)
